TODAY on It’s Payday! Bread for the World: Blacks are More Likely to Be Hungry & In Poverty than Any Other Group!

Bread for the World is an organization committed to fighting poverty and hunger. The group’s recent analysis shows African-Americans continue to suffer disproportionately from hunger, poverty, unemployment and income and education disparities when compared to the total U.S. population. The study found that more the 1-in-3 African American children would in poverty.

Derrick Boykin, the organization's northeast regional organizer came on It's Payday to talk about these findings.

We also talked about the relationship between voting in mid-term elections and the recent federal budget cuts.
